Southampton Elementary School hosted its annual second grade Thanksgiving gathering on Nov. 21. The event focused on family and community, with students performing songs, sharing a Thanksgiving poem and enjoying some tasty treats with their families. Also, during the event, representatives from the Shinnecock Indian Nation spoke about their traditions related to giving thanks, performed a traditional dance and song with students and gave a blessing.
