Dear Pre-K Parents/Guardians:
On behalf of the entire Southampton Elementary School staff, we would like to welcome you and your child to our Full-Day Pre-K Program. School will begin on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. The information provided below will help you in planning for the start of the wonderful school year ahead.
To appropriately transition your child into the full- day Pre-K Program, the September 2024 schedule will be as follows:
Wednesday, September 4h: 9:30am-11:00 am. Parent & Student Orientation
Thursday, September 5h and Friday, September 6th: 8:20 to 11:30 am – No bus (Bag lunch in class)
Monday, September 9th –Wednesday, September 11th: 8:20-11:30 pm (Student pick up bag lunch)
Thursday, September 12th 8:20-3:20 pm (Full Day Begins/ Bussing begins for 4 years old)
A bus will be provided to transport you and your child to and from the Elementary School on Wednesday, September 4th, 2024 for parent and student orientation only. Please contact the bus garage at (631) 591-4541 if a bus is required on that day.
Regular bussing will not be available until Thursday, September 12th, 2024. The bus garage will be mailing bus information for your child’s bus route. Additionally, if your child does not turn four (4) on or prior to September 12th, 2024, he/she will not be entitled to bus transportation until they reach four (4) years of age.
In addition, as a participant of The New York State Universal Prekindergarten Program, it is our duty to adhere to the child screening and assessment standards set forth by New York State (CSA-1 – CSA-5). As a district we have selected the Brigance and have established a child screening and assessment process that complies with applicable regulations [Part in Process 117 and Section 151-1.3 (6). Your child may have participated in our spring event. However, if he or she did not, there will be a screening scheduled in the fall during the school year. The Brigance screening results will be available for all parents to review and discuss at our first parent/teacher conference in November.

Estimados padres/apoderados de Pre-K:
En nombre de todo el personal de la escuela primaria de Southampton, nos gustaría darles la bienvenida a usted y a su hijo a nuestro programa de pre-kínder de día completo. Las clases comenzarán el Miércoles 4 de septiembre, 2024. La información proporcionada a continuación lo ayudará a planificar el comienzo del maravilloso año escolar que se avecina.
Para hacer la transición adecuada de su hijo al programa de pre kínder de día completo, el horario del mes de septiembre 2024 será el siguiente:

Jueves, Septiembre 12 8:20-3:20 pm (Empieza el día completo/ autobuses empiezan para los estudiantes que tengan 4 años cumplidos)
Se proporcionará transporte para usted y para su hijo hacia y desde la escuela primaria el miércoles 4 de septiembre de 2024 solo para la orientación de padres y estudiantes. Comuníquese por favor con la estación de los autobuses al (631)591-4541 o (631)591-4542 si necesita autobús ese día.
Los autobuses regulares no estarán disponibles hasta el jueves 12 de septiembre de 2024. El garaje de autobuses enviará por correo la información del autobús para la ruta que tomara su hijo (a). Además, si su hijo no cumple los 4 años de edad antes o hasta el 12 de septiembre no podrá hacer uso de los autobuses hasta que tenga los 4 años cumplidos.
Asimismo, como participante del Programa Universal de Pre Kinder del estado de New York es nuestro deber adherirnos a los estándares de detección y evaluación de niños, establecidos por el estado (CSA-1-CSA – 5) Como distrito, hemos seleccionado el sistema Brigance y hemos establecido un proceso de selección y evaluación de niños que cumple con las reglamentaciones aplicables [Parte en Proceso 117 y Sección 151-1.3 (6)] Es posible que su hijo haya participado en nuestro evento de Primavera. Sin embargo, si él o ella no lo hizo, se programará una evaluación en el otoño durante el año escolar. Los resultados de la evaluación de Brigance estarán disponibles para que todos los padres los revisen y discutan en nuestra primera conferencia de padres y maestros en noviembre.

Tomorrow, Thursday September 5th Prek will come to school 8:20-11:30- There are no buses ( bag lunch in class) .
Mañana, Jueves 5 de septiembre Prek vendrá a la escuela de 8:20 a 11:30. No hay autobuses (almuerzo se tomara en la clase).
